Struggling to Stay Consistent

So Staying consistent isn’t always easy, because especially when life throws curveballs. For me, the challenges looked like this:

   •   Balancing Multiple Roles: As a wife, mother, job and entrepreneur, I often found myself pulled in many directions. Because It was easy to let my business take a backseat when family life got busy.

   •   Fear of Failure: At times, I hesitated to show up. I was afraid I wouldn’t meet my own expectations or others’ expectations.

   •   Burnout: Pouring everything into my business without giving myself time to rest led to exhaustion and periods of inactivity.

   •   Distractions: So Staying focused on my goals wasn’t always easy. Managing day-to-day life in the fast-paced world we live in added to the challenge.

But struggles affected my ability to show up consistently in my business. It affected posting regularly on social media. It also hindered keeping up with orders. Additionally, maintaining a growth mindset was challenging.

What Inconsistency Taught Me About Success

Through my struggles, I’ve discovered some valuable lessons about consistency:

1. Perfection Isn’t Required: Consistency doesn’t mean being perfect. It’s about showing up even when things aren’t ideal. Progress over perfection has become my mantra.

2. Set Realistic Goals: So Instead of trying to do everything, I’ve learned to focus on small, achievable goals. These goals move the needle ahead.

3. Create Systems: Having a routine is beneficial. Using tools like planners, calendars, and reminders has helped me stay organized. These tools keep me focused.

4. Give Yourself Grace: Life happens, and it’s okay to stumble. But what matters is how quickly you get back on track.

5. Find Your “Why”: So Remember why you started your business. This helps reignite motivation on tough days when you feel like giving up.

How I’m Overcoming Inconsistency

Because I’m still a work in progress, but I’ve taken steps to overcome my struggles with consistency:

   •   Accountability: I’ve found accountability partners who check in with me and keep me motivated.

   •   Batch Work: To avoid feeling overwhelmed, I set aside specific times to batch tasks. I focus on creating content or organizing inventory during these times.

   •   Self-Care: I’ve learned that I can’t pour from an empty cup. Taking time to rest and recharge allows me to show up better for my business.

   •   Daily Habits: I focus on building small, consistent habits. For example, I dedicate 30 minutes a day to my business. I do this even on my busiest days.

Encouragement for Other Women Entrepreneurs

To anyone who struggles with consistency: you’re not alone. It’s normal to feel like you’re falling short sometimes, because what matters is your determination to keep going. Take small steps every day. Celebrate your progress. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it.

Building a business is a marathon, not a sprint. There will be setbacks, but as long as you keep moving ahead, success is within reach.

Conclusion

My struggles with consistency have taught me the importance of resilience, self-compassion, and taking things one day at a time. I continue on this entrepreneurial journey. I’m committed to showing up for my business, my team, and myself. So I embrace my flaws and all.

To every woman dreaming of entrepreneurship: you’ve got this. Embrace the journey. Keep learning. Know that even when it feels hard, every step you take brings you closer to your goals.
